Ingredients

Ingredients for apple cider martini against a white brick background, including a bottle of Vodka, Cointreau, apple cider, a jar of cinnamon, bowl of brown sugar and a lemon.

You only need a few simple ingredients to make the best apple cider martini (exact measurements are in the recipe card below):

For the martini:

  • Apple cider: Choose a high quality, flavorful spiced apple cider
  • Vodka
  • Cointreau: Cointreau is an orange-flavored triple sec liqueur. You could substitute Grand Marnier.
  • Lemon juice: A squeeze of fresh lemon juice helps brighten up the cocktail. You could also use orange juice.
  • Cinnamon: I used just a pinch of cinnamon in my martinis, but you could omit this completely if you have a heavily spiced apple cider.

To garnish the martini glass:

  • A splash of apple cider to wet the rim of the glass
  • Coconut sugar: Coconut sugar has a pretty brown color and a caramel flavor that I think goes great with this cocktail. You could substitute brown sugar.
  • Cinnamon

Make it your own!

  • Try omitting the sugared rim and instead drizzling some caramel sauce inside of the martini glass for a caramel apple cider martini!

Instructions

Step One: Pour a splash of apple cider into a shallow bowl or plate. Pour the coconut sugar and cinnamon in a separate shallow bowl of plate. Wet the rim of the martini glass in the apple cider, letting any excess drip off. Move the glass to the cinnamon sugar to coat the rim. Repeat for each glass.

Step Two: Fill your martini shaker with ice. Add the apple cider, vodka, cointreau, lemon juice and cinnamon to the martini shaker. Shake well for a minute or two.

Note: This recipe makes two cocktails that are about 3 ounces total, with about 1 ounce of alcohol. This means it is a little weaker than a classic martini, which usually has about 2 ounces of alcohol. Feel free to add strengthen the cocktail with a little more vodka if you’d like.
