Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl
This delicious strawberry banana smoothie bowl is a simple and healthy breakfast, loved by adults and kids alike! This thick and creamy smoothie is the perfect vehicle for all your favorite toppings.

My kids have always loved smoothies, and in the toddler days a sweet green smoothie was one of the only ways I could get them to eat (drink!) their veggies. To my delight, they have both now developed a love of broccoli, and a tolerance for many other green things, and I no longer have to sneak the veggies in. Which gives me a lot more leeway to try out new smoothies!
This banana strawberry smoothie bowl is one of my favorites. This refreshing smoothie bowl is made with oatmeal, chia seeds, and frozen banana, plus frozen strawberries for a vibrant color and classic flavor that’s perfect for summer. Top it with fresh strawberries, coconut flakes, or any of your other favorite toppings, for a quick breakfast any day of the week. This creamy smoothie bowl is also a great healthy snack on a hot summer day, and a totally passable alternative to ice cream if you are looking for a healthy dessert. Any way you eat it, it is guaranteed to be a hit!

Ingredients
To make this easy strawberry banana smoothie bowl recipe, you need the following simple ingredients (exact measurements are in the recipe card below).

Ingredient Notes
- Frozen sliced strawberries: I recommend buying sliced frozen strawberries rather than whole, so your blender will have a little less work to do. Make sure your strawberries do not have any added sugar.
- Frozen banana: Frozen banana is crucial for a thick smoothie bowl. It blends up with a perfect consistency that is almost like soft-serve ice cream. Anytime you have bananas that are starting to turn brown, just peel them, put them in a freezer bag, and store them away for later. You can slice them first or leave them whole! You can also look for frozen sliced banana in the freezer section at your local grocery store.
- Chia seeds: I love adding chia seeds to smoothies for extra fiber and healthy fats. You could also try ground flax or hemp seeds.
- Rolled oats: Make sure to choose rolled oats, not steel cut oats. These add a little fiber and whole grain, and you won’t even notice they’re in the smoothie.
- Water: Substitute oat milk, coconut milk, or any other milk of choice if you prefer an even more creamy consistency to your smoothie bowl.
- Toppings! Toppings are the best part of smoothie bowls! Try adding any of your favorite fresh fruit, nuts, seeds or granola to this smoothie bowl. Chocolate chips, or a drizzle of chocolate or peanut butter would also be great on this smoothie bowl.
Instructions

Tip: If your blender gets stuck, turn it off and give the smoothie a stir to loosen up the ingredients. That may be all your blender needs to get going again. If it is still stuck, add a little bit more water a tablespoon or two at a time. This smoothie bowl is supposed to be thick – almost like soft serve ice cream.

Storage
Smoothie bowls are best enjoyed right away. Right after blending, they have a delicious creamy texture, but after storing they become more watery and not as appealing. My favorite way to use up leftover smoothie is to pour it in a popsicle mold for a perfect sweet treat that lasts for weeks!
